Canadian Silver Cobalt Works Inc. today announced that it had secured a payment of C$500,000 from the Quebec-Ontario Exploration Program (OJEP) to fund the metallurgical geochemical exploration of two newly discovered silver-cobalt vein deposits, Sangster and St. Denis, in Quebec.
The Silver-Cobalt vein deposits represent a significant opportunity for Canadian Silver Cobalt Works Inc., as the company continues to strengthen its financial position and execute its multi-commodity strategy to explore, develop, and produce battery metals, including cobalt.
The Quebec-Ontario Exploration Program, or OJEP, is a joint initiative by the governments of the provinces of Quebec and Ontario to facilitate mineral exploration in their respective provinces by providing funds to earn through a series of exploration projects. The funds are intended to increase the mineral exploration potential of the region and stimulate mineral development in the Province of Quebec.
The mineral exploration program supports projects and activities that will bring new and sophisticated geological knowledge to the region. This information will help identify and explore new mining opportunities, which would ultimately benefit the local economy, as well as provide much needed employment and employment security for the local community.
“We are very pleased to receive this funding under the Ontario-Quebec Exploration Program, as it will enable us to conduct advanced geochemical exploration work at our Sangster and St. Denis properties in Quebec,” said Mark Dicey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Silver Cobalt Works Inc. “These projects are an important part of a larger exploration strategy to better understand and evaluate these deposits, and to further advance our multi-commodity strategy of exploration and production of battery metals.”
This OJEP payment reinforces Canadian Silver Cobalt Works’ commitment to the development of a sustainable, environmentally responsible mining operation in Canada and its belief in the value of developing mineral resources responsibly. The company is currently undertaking an exploration program focused on discovering battery metals resources in Quebec and Ontario that will contribute to the responsible supply chain of materials required for the emerging global energy storage industry.
The payment from the OJEP program, combined with the ongoing exploration programs in Quebec and Ontario, will help ensure that Canadian Silver Cobalt Works remains well positioned to capitalize on the potential opportunities that will come with battery metals production in this region over the next few years.
