White Gold Corp., a leading gold exploration company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, recently announced that it has intercepted a whopping 5.04 g/t Au over 20.85 m in the western extension of the near surface high-grade gold zone at its Kinross Betty Ford Project in Yukon, Canada.
The underground zoning system developed by the exploration team is designed to facilitate systematic drill testing of high-grade gold mineralization from underling structures. This recent discovery confirms the presence of favorable geology in the Betty Ford area. In addition, several additional gold occurrences have been identified in the Sulphide domain, which are believed to be associated with the mineralization of the high-grade, near-surface gold zone.
The company believes that the discovery of these high-grade gold zones along the western edge of the project site have significant exploration potential. Given the extensive infrastructure and experienced local workforce in the neighboring area, the potential for further exploration and development of the site is high.
The Kinross Betty Ford Project was acquired by White Gold Corp from Kinross in early 2017. While the project has seen limited exploration, the new discovery further demonstrates White Gold’s potential as a major player in Canada’s gold exploration industry.
In its latest news release, White Gold’s CEO Ian Atkinson stated, “These results confirm our understanding of the Betty Ford target area as a significant gold system, with high-grade and near-surface mineralization. Combining this find with the numerous smaller-scale rock chip samples identified by White Gold in 2017 indicates the presence of several small gold occurrences. We are now fast-tracking additional exploration activities at Betty Ford to identify and test the source of the high-grade mineralization.”
The Kinross Betty Ford Project has been identified as a significant target for White Gold due to its high-grade zone and easy accessibility for further exploration and development. As such, it is expected that the results of White Gold’s upcoming drilling will further elucidate the Betty Ford target and shape future exploration initiatives for the company.
