QX Resources Limited (QXR) recently announced that brines were intersected in the first hole of their Liberty Lithium Project.
This project is situated approximately 40 km south of Catamarca, northwest Argentina and is seeking mineralisation of brines from a formation of capacity Pope and Juri. The QXR announced that first hole of the project was successful and positively intersected with the brines for a distance of 64.5 meters (m).
This intersection was deep within the Holocene sediments as per the interpretation of QXR. The hole was completed by using a Direct Push technology. The logging and sampling of the same were done by Distral SA, the company responsible for managing the Liberty Project.
Brines from this first hole were found to be medium concentrated with an average of 1.710 g/L. The brines were further analyzed to detect the presence of certain metals. It was revealed that the brines have a significant amount of potassium which is a major indicator of lithium. Moreover, the brines have a good abundance in sulphates, chlorides, sulphates, and borates.
Now after the successful first hole, the project experts and QXR team is hopeful that the further testing and drilling will bring more encouraging results. Besides, the team is actively looking for surface mapping to analyze the subsurface structure and areas of exploration.
QXR is looking forward to widely expand the lithium exploration in the region which in turn is expected to boost the share price of the company in the coming time. With the increasing demand for lithium, this intersection is expected to open a new scheduled for the company to increase its profit.
This positive announcement marks a major milestone for QX Resources Limited and it is expected to further strengthen the company’s foothold in the mining industry.
