“Reuse and Save with Starbucks: Now Accepting Reusable Cups for Drive-Thru and Mobile Orders
Despite the difficult times that we all are facing due to the global pandemic, Starbucks has done something that’s sure to bring joy to the hearts of its customers. Starbucks is now accepting reusable cups for drive-thru and mobile orders! This is part of Starbucks’ ongoing commitment to sustainability as they continue to strive towards a more sustainable future. Starting in early 2021, customers can use their own reusable cups at select Starbucks drive-thru locations and for mobile orders. To do this, customers simply need to place their order on the mobile app, and indicate that they will be using their own reusable cup. Once the order has been placed, customers can simply pull into the drive-thru and explain to their barista that they are using their own cup for their order. The barista will then take the cup and place the customer’s order into it. The order will then be ready for pickup, in the customer’s own reusable cup. Starbucks will also be taking some additional steps to ensure that the reusable cups still meet their standards of health and safety. For instance, all reusable cups will be asked to go through a sanitation station before they can be used. This sanitation station uses a combination of boiling water and peroxide-based cleaner to make sure that all reusable cups meet Starbucks’ standards and are completely safe for customers to use. It’s great to see Starbucks taking the initiative to make their operations more sustainable. Although it may only be limited to certain locations as of now, this is a great first step towards a more sustainable future. Not only is this an eco-friendly move, but it also helps to reduce single-use waste. Starbucks has truly set an example and has established an inspiring example of how we should all care for the environment. We can all strive to sacrifice convenience for a few moments and make the right choices to reduce single-use waste.
