Freegold Vulcan Resources Inc. recently announced promising gold drill results from their Golden Summit exploration project in the White Gold District of Yukon Territory, Canada.
The company reported that their drill program intersected 1.44 g/t Au over 31.4 m in the eastern portion of the project area. This result marks one of the highest grade gold intersections identified to date within the White Gold District. Additionally, the company reported the presence of significant gold mineralization in ten of the twelve holes drilled at Golden Summit.
The Golden Summit project is part of a larger contiguous land package owned by the company. Planned exploration for this year includes further drilling, prospecting and geological mapping to better understand the complex geology and gold potential of the area.
Freegold plans to undertake further work to understand the project’s potential to host a large gold deposit in the near future. The presence of gold on the property highlights the importance of responsible exploration in the region, and will make for an exciting start to the gold exploration season in Yukon this year.
The White Gold District is known for its diverse mineral deposits and has been the site of major gold discoveries in recent years. Since 2015, three significant gold deposits have been discovered in the district, making it one of Canada’s most active and promising gold regions.
The Golden Summit project is a testament to the potential of the region, and has reignited interest in the White Gold District among prospectors and explorationists. The results are sure to draw attention to the area as Freegold continues to press forward in developing what could become the next major gold deposit.
